Winding & Water Field Supervisor – Pump Manufacturing

Department: Production

Reporting To: Production Manager

Location: Naroda Gidc Phase 1/2 , Ahmedabad

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and responsible Winding & Water Field Supervisor with a background in Electrical (Diploma or ITI) to oversee the motor winding, testing, and field service operations for our pump products. The candidate will supervise the team involved in motor rewinding, testing, installation, commissioning, and servicing of pumps both in-house and at customer sites.

The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of motor winding, electrical troubleshooting, and field service management.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Winding Operations Supervision

  1. Supervise and manage the winding of motors used in submersible, monoblock, and centrifugal pumps.
  2. Ensure proper use of copper wire gauges, insulation materials, and varnishing techniques.
  3. Check winding resistance, insulation resistance, and quality of winding work.
  4. Maintain records of winding specifications and testing results.

2. Field Service & Supervision

  1. Supervise installation, commissioning, and servicing of pumps at customer sites.
  2. Coordinate field activities for pump testing, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  3. Diagnose issues related to motor winding, control panels, or electrical faults on-site.
  4. Provide technical support and guidance to customers and field technicians.


3. Team Management

  1. Lead a team of winding technicians, electricians, and field service staff.
  2. Plan and assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and ensure timely job completion.
  3. Train team members in winding procedures, testing methods, and safety practices.

4. Quality Control & Documentation

  1. Ensure all winding and service work meets company quality and safety standards.
  2. Maintain records of winding jobs, field service reports, and test certificates.
  3. Coordinate with the QA team for inspection and final testing of motors/pumps.

5. Maintenance & Safety

  1. Ensure preventive maintenance of winding machines, testing benches, and tools.
  2. Implement safety standards during winding and field activities.
  3. Report unsafe practices and ensure corrective actions are taken.


Qualifications & Experience:

  1. Education:
  2. Diploma in Electrical Engineering or ITI in Electrical / Motor Winding.
  3. Experience:
  4. 1 – 3 years of experience in motor winding, pump manufacturing, or pump field service industry.
  5. Technical Skills:
  6. Strong knowledge of motor winding processes (submersible, monoblock, and induction motors).
  7. Ability to read electrical diagrams and winding data sheets.
  8. Familiarity with testing instruments (megger, multimeter, winding tester).
  9. Knowledge of pump installation and electrical control systems.
